Middlesbrough striker Mido has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing a hernia operation.
The Egyptian international went under the knife earlier this week to correct the niggling injury.
The operation means Mido will miss the remaining five weeks of the campaign.
Boro boss Gareth Southgate decided to send Mido for surgery with the club all but safe from relegation.
Mido has endured a frustrating debut season on Teesside with the former Tottenham man missing four months of action earlier in the campaign because of a pelvic bone injury.
