Boro midfielder not ruling out return to Sporting

Middlesbrough midfielder Fabio Rochemback is still to decide his future, but is open to a return to Sporting Lisbon. Rochemback joined Boro from Sporting in August 2005 and is out of contract at the Riverside in the summer. The club have a two-year option on the Brazilian and Rochemback admits he is now enjoying his football with the Premier League side. "I am well here in Middlesbrough," Rochemback told O Jogo. "I am calm, I am playing and I feel good. Let's see what will happen in the future.

May deadline

"My contract ends at the end of the season and there is an option for a renewal for two more years - it is an option for me and them. "We must reach an agreement. If they want to, and I do not want to, I can leave, but we will have to see what happens. "We have to wait until 1st May which is the date by which Middlesbrough must notify me if they are interested in me staying and whether we can reach an agreement." Rochemback has been linked with a return to Sporting and he acknowledged he has held talks with the Portuguese club.
Treated well
He added: "I like Portugal, everybody knows that. There I have a home, I like the people, life is quiet. "I am open to offers. Clearly, I know the people at Sporting, they treated me well before, and if the opportunity arises to return to Sporting, it would be good. "There have been conversations with Sporting. I have no agent now and those who are interested will have to talk to me. "It is, therefore, better and easier, it is more direct - it will be me who decides and not agents. I have come to a point in my career where I have to decide without anyone close by."
