Middlesbrough target Ross McCormack has confirmed he will not be leaving Motherwell this month.
The 21-year-old former Rangers ace is out of contract at Fir Park in the summer and he is free to talk to other clubs with a view to signing a pre-contract.
Boro have expressed an interest and are set for talks, but they will not be signing him this month, and McCormack admits he could sign a new deal with Motherwell.
"I am really enjoying my football and I know it might benefit me if I was to stay here and continue my development for another couple of years," McCormack told the Scottish Daily Star.
"There is a lot of interest and some big clubs are in there with Middlesbrough but at this moment I don't feel it is right to sit down and talk with other clubs.
"Too much has gone on at the club and I don't think it would be right for me to even consider a move away in the January transfer window.
"I certainly will not be leaving in the current transfer window."
