Middlesbrough striker Mido expects to be out until after the international break with a hamstring injury.

The Egyptian has been hampered by the problem in recent weeks and was replaced after an hour of Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Everton.

He feels the injury requires rest and he is likely to miss Boro's Premier League clash with Manchester City at the weekend.

Mido is also ruling himself out of Egypt's African Cup of Nations qualifier with Botswana later this month.

"I won't be available for the game (against Botswana)," Mido told FilGoal.com.

"I hope I can be fit for the game against Chelsea in the Premiership after three weeks."

The summer signing's injury merely compounds Boro's problems up front with Jeremie Aliadiere sidelined and Tuncay Sanli also carrying a knock.
