Middlesbrough's Luke Young feels that now he is fully fit, he can stake his claim for a place in the England squad.
The former Charlton defender moved to the Riverside from the Addicks in the summer, but injured his thigh in pre-season.
However he is now over the injury, and feels good performances for Boro could warrant a recall to the England side.
"It was frustrating. Two days before the start of the season I pulled my thigh muscle but I'm fully fit now," he said in the Daily Star Sunday.
"But if I have a good season here I would never write it off.
"If I was called up again I would be delighted to be involved, but now I'm focusing on club football.
"People have said before that if you're doing well for your club and your performances are of a high standard, then England will be around the corner."
