Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is hoping to welcome Mido, Tuncay Sanli and Jonathan Woodgate back into his side for the clash with Everton on Sunday, while Gary O'Neil is also available again.
Mido and Tuncay picked up hamstring injuries last weekend and missed the Carling Cup defeat to Tottenham, while Woodgate was ruled out with a groin problem.
O'Neil was cup-tied following his recent move from Portsmouth.
Jeremie Aliadiere will miss the trip to Goodison Park after damaging tendons in his hamstring, and Julio Arca is set to be sidelined until December with a medial ligament problem.
"We are hopeful that Mido and Tuncay will be available for Sunday, we're pretty sure Jonathan Woodgate will be and O'Neil obviously will be," said Southgate.
"That's four back - Julio Arca is the one from the weekend that will be long-term.
"Aliadiere won't be fit for this weekend but we're hopeful for just after the international break."
A winning perspective
Southgate believes Boro have shown improvement in recent games, but admits he will only be satisfied with three points against Everton.
"We've been playing better and not getting results but I've got to be very careful I don't go down the route of being pleased all the time when we are not winning," he said.
"From our club's point of view we want a sense of perspective - we want to win matches."
