Middlesbrough striker Massimo Maccarone is being forced to wait on a move with no clubs having yet come forward to sign him in the January transfer window.
The Italian forward wants to leave Boro and return to Italy following a disappointing campaign with the Premiership side.
Maccarone, who joined Middlesbrough in 2002 from Empoli, has been a target of Serie A teams Torino and Siena but neither club has made a bid for the 27-year-old.
"We haven't received any official offers either from Premier League clubs or any Serie A clubs," the player's agent Paolo Fabbri said.
"There are several Italian clubs interested in Massimo but no-one has come forward to make an offer.
"I have a meeting next week with several Serie A clubs and we will see what happens although I don't think the matter will be resolved until January 15.
"The player is under contract with Boro until the summer and hence if a club was interested they would have to negotiate with Middlesbrough although I don't think there should be any problems."
