Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has played down reports that he has made a move for West Brom's Zoltan Gera.
Reports suggested West Brom had rejected an offer from Boro for Gera earlier this week as they look to keep hold of the Hungarian.
However, Southgate insists the club have made no offers for any player yet as the transfer window gets ready to swing back into action.
"We've not made any written offers for anybody as yet," Southgate told the Sunday Sun.
"You hope to do some business if you can but it's difficult to do business in three months in the summer, so doing it in one month is not going to be easy.
"If it happens then all well and good - but if not we dig in with the squad that we've got."
