Middlesbrough have been boosted by the news that James Morrison will be back within the next few weeks.
Boro had feared that the 19-year-old would miss the rest of the season with a hip problem which has dogged him over the last few weeks and sent him to see a specialist.
However, Steve McClaren has confirmed that the young midfielder should be back early next month.
"It's good news. The specialist says that James does not need a long lay-off," he said.
McClaren also revealed that the club were looking to loan long-term injury victim Malcolm Christie to a Scandinavian club over the summer.
"We want to see him playing and training continuously and that's why we are looking for a Scandinavian club for him," he said.
