Davies wants Boro stay

Middlesbrough defender Andrew Davies is keen to stay at the club.

The 20-year-old's future at Middlesbrough looked uncertain after he joined Queens Park Rangers on loan with a view to a permanent move in March.

Davies was recalled from his loan spell last month due to an injury crisis at The Riverside and he is determined to prove himself to Boro boss Steve McClaren.

"I want to stay here all next season and I want to fight for my place," said Davies.

"I would be really upset to leave because I'm from Teesside and Boro are the team I've always supported.

"I want to play as many games as I can for the team. I also love playing in the Premier League.

"I learned a lot playing in The Championship for QPR and was grateful for the chance to play regular football.

"I want to look at my options in the summer and want to stay as long as I can because I love the club.

"The gaffer hasn't said anything to me (about my future) since I came back, but putting me in the team shows that he wants to involve me."
