Middlesbrough manager Steve McClaren is confident that young striker Danny Graham will sign a new deal with the club.

The Chester-Le-Street starlet is the latest youngster to break through to the first team squad from Boro's impressive academy.

Graham, who made his debut in the international scene this week as he played for the England Under-20s, is now looking to seal a new contract - with his current deal set to expire in the summer.

A number of clubs are known to be keen on Graham, but the 19-year-old's desire to remain on Teesside is set to see him sign on at The Riverside.

"He is causing a stir," said McClaren.

"People want him on loan and others want to buy him.

"Danny may not be the most elegant of players but look at his goals record.

"He has scored everywhere and it took him only two appearances to get his first senior goal - he's invaluable, a natural goalscorer."
