Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has once again stated that he is no hurry to discuss a new deal.

The 31-year-old Australian international is out of contract at the end of the season, but talks are still not progressing.

"There's been talk, we've spoken about it but, like I've said before, there's a few bits and bobs need to be spoken about," said Schwarzer.

"We've hardly gone anywhere in terms of negotiations.

"We're not anywhere near deciding anything, at the moment I'm concentrating on my football, it's a massively important season for this club."

Meanwhile, Boro boss Steve McClaren has confirmed that Malcolm Christie and Andrew Davies could be set leave the club on loan.

Both players have returned form long-term injuries and they could be allowed to get their full fitness elsewhere.

"We will look at that, it might be an option," said McClaren.

"I do know there are clubs queuing up who want to take both Malcolm and Andrew on loan. We will assess that issue over the next week or two."
