Premiership new boys West Brom are being linked with a move for Middlesbrough midfielder Jonathan Greening.
Baggies boss Gary Megson is drawing up his list of targets for next season as he prepares for life back in The Premiership and Greening is thought to be on his shopping list.
Greening failed to hold down a place in the Middlesbrough first team last season and he could be sold for the right offer.
The former Manchester United ace expressed his frustration at his lack of chances last season and could be interested in a move to gain regular action.
Megson revealed that the club have more money to spend than they did last time they were in The Premiership, although he will still be prudent in the transfer market.
"Every team who comes up has a huge dilemma as regards trying to do the best they can within their financial boundaries," said Megson.
"Because we went up before we have had some extra finance. Most clubs who go down don't manage to come back up again, but we have done that.
"This time we can do a little bit more than last time in terms of where we can pitch the wage bill and in bringing players in.
"I think most supporters now have had the opportunity to see what happens if you spend money you haven't got.
"What you have got to do is push it to the absolute limit without going over that limit."
