Millers linked with Cadamarteri

Rotherham United are understood to have targeted Bradford City striker Danny Cadamarteri.

The former Everton star, like all the Bradford squad, have been told to find new clubs.

The Millers have now expressed an interest in the striker and are believed to be holding talks with the player's agent.

Rotherham have also been linked with a renewed bid for Mansfield midfielder Liam Lawrence, as well as Phil Gilchrist and Robbie Stockdale - who both spent time on loan at Millmoor last season,

Another name being linked is Dundee United midfielder Charlie Miller, as Rotherham look set to invest heavily in new talent over the summer.

New owner Neil Freeman is ready to raise the wage structure of the club to help the South Yorkshire side challenge in the new Football League Championship.

"We need 20 good, old pros, taking away the kids who have just signed as professionals. To build the squad with quality, we'll have to raise the wage structure and we will," said Freeman.

"Agents are now saying that their clients would love to sign, but by the same token, it's not just a case of automatically agreeing to what they want and saying no problem, sign here. But there will be more money for wages.

"It's about wages not transfer fees, that's what it's about these days."
