Middlesbrough's Robbie Stockdale is joining Rotherham United on a month's loan.
The Scotland international has been training with The Millers ahead of putting pen-to-paper on temporary terms with the First Division outfit.
Ronnie Moore is set to field his new arrival at right back with Shaun Barker switching to the centre of defence when struggling Nottingham Forest provide the opposition at the weekend.
Watford and Ipswich Town were also interested in taking Stockdale on loan, but Moore has won the chase for the 24-year-old's signature.
The player has also spent some time out on loan at West Ham after failing to hold down a regular first team squad place under Steve McClaren.
Meanwhile, Martin McIntosh is making good progress in his bid to recover from knee and ankle injuries.
