Seasiders extend Jones loan

Blackpool have extended the loan of goalkeeper Bradley Jones for another month from Premiership side Middlesbrough.

Seasiders boss Steve McMahon confirmed the loan extension following the club's 1-0 home win over Bristol City on Saturday.

Jones will stay at Bloomfield Road while McMahon tries to sort out the future of fellow custodian Phil Barnes, who handed in a transfer request last week.

"He signed for another month late on Friday. We are absolutely delighted, it gives us a little bit of cover until we find out what is happening with Barnesy," McMahon told the club's official website.

"I am delighted with him, he is an Aussie, which is probably the only minus point about him, but, in general he has done very, very well."

Meanwhile, Blackpool have announced that kit sponsors The Life Repair Group have gone into administration.

However, as the company's administrators sort out a business rescue package, The Seasiders will continue to use their current sponsors' name for the remainder of the season.

Chairman Karl Oyston admitted that the news will have an impact on the two-year deal they signed with The Life Repair Group in the summer.

"The club are assessing the impact and will work with The Life Repair Group and their administrators during the administration process, it will obviously have some impact on the club's forecasts and cash flows for this season, but it is very much a wait and see situation at present," Oyston told the club's official website.
