Boro have been linked with the French midfielder before this summer, but the Italian side now say that they have agreed on a loan deal with Steve McClaren's side.
The Serie A outfit now say that Boro have permission to speak to the 24-year-old to try and persuade him to move to The Riverside.
Although the earlier deal for Dalmat stalled, Boro have rekindled their interest in the talented Frenchman, and will hope they can lure him to Teesside before the end of the transfer window on Monday.
Dalmat does not seem to be in Hector Cuper's plans for the season and may favour regular action in The Premiership.
Meanwhile, Inter have officially announced the signing of French defender Jeremie Brechet from Le Championnat champions Lyon.
The 24-year-old stopper passed his medical on Friday to finalise his switch to Giuseppe Meazza.
