BIRMINGHAM CITY boss Steve Bruce may be looking to make a move for Wimbledon goalkeeper Kelvin Davis after failing with his attempts so far to land Mark Crossley from Middlesbrough.

Bruce is keen to add another custodian to his St Andrews squad and challenge Ian Bennett and Andy Marriott for the Blues number one jersey.

"It's a priority to sign a new goalkeeper," Bruce told the Birmingham Evening Mail.

"I would like to get someone in before we go to Malaysia and hopefully that will happen.

"We have one or two irons in the fire and we'll see what develops in the next few days."

The second city club may look to offer around £250,000 for Davis, with the South West London club currently mired in administration and likely in a position to sell off some of their best assets.

It remains to be seen if The Dons would refuse such a cash offer for Davis at this stage but with the club's future remaining uncertain, they may have little choice in selling.
