MIDDLESBROUGH'S bid for a Uefa Cup spot is back on track after they comfortably dispatched West Bromwich Albion 3-0 at The Riverside.

Boro dominated for large periods of the game and never really looked like conceding against relegation threatened Albion.

The Teessiders took a deserved lead after 36 minutes when Malcolm Christie (pictured) grabbed his second goal in two games with a neat finish, after being put through by Franck Queudrue.

Steve McClaren's outfit continued the push forward and Boro almost doubled their advantage when Juninho saw his tremendous overhead kick comeback off the bar.

Cameroonian stars Geremi and Joseph Job could also have added to the tally, before Boro actually did on 76 minutes.

Jonathan Greening played a one-two with Juninho on the edge of the area and the former Manchester United man continued his run and collected the ball before finishing past Russell Hoult.

Boro made it three just minutes from time when Slovakian substitute Szilard Nemeth raced into the area and produced a cool finish.

The result sees West Brom remain entrenched in the relegation zone, whilst Boro are now in the top half of the table as they look to secure their first-ever season of European football.
