The former Manchester United player - who joined The Rams in a £2 million transfer deal in the summer of 2000 - has been linked with moves to Premiership sides Middlesbrough, Southampton, Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion when the transfer window opens next month.
However, the cash-strapped Pride Park outfit admitted that no club has made any official contact as yet for the 23-year-old.
Rams secretary Keith Pearson told Derby's Evening Telegraph: "We have had no offers at all for Danny Higginbotham."
The club's reigning Player of the Year is likely to be one of the names to be on his way out of the East Midlands club, with Derby desperate to lower their wage bill in the face of mounting debts.
A 3-0 defeat at Coventry City has left John Gregory's men lying in mid-table and with plenty of work to do if they are to reach the play-off places come the end of the season.
January's opening of the transfer window could well determine what kind of squad the former Aston Villa boss will have left, should a number of Rams players make expected moves away.
