England suits Geremi - Schafer

CAMEROON boss Winfried Schafer has lauded Middlesbrough loan star Geremi, believing he is perfectly suited to the English game.

Steve McClaren swooped for the Real Madrid midfielder in the close season and Geremi has settled well at the Riverside Stadium helping the club into the top half of the table. 

"I am not surprised at all that Geremi is doing so well at Boro," Schafer told planetfootball.com.

Geremi found it hard to hold down a regular place in the star-studded Real side and Schafer is convinced the system of the Spaniards does not suit the midfield dynamo. 

"He simply didn't fit Real's system, but he is perfectly equipped to play in England," added the German coach.

"At the moment I regard him as one of the best players in The Premiership and I believe he will even get better if he gains more experience."
