GEREMI'S English agent has dismissed reports that his client is on his way to Middlesbrough, but says the Real Madrid man is still desperate for a move to The Premiership.

The Cameroon international is desperate to leave Santiago Bernabeu after becoming unhappy at his lack of football, and is determined to play in England.

The 23-year-old impressed during the World Cup but is still not guaranteed a place in the side of the Champions League holders, and has set his heart on a move to England.

Chelsea had looked on the verge of signing him only for financial worries to scupper the move, but his English agent Neil Sang told planetfooball.com that Geremi was not heading to Middlesbrough for talks, despite reports in the press.

"We've had no contact from Boro, none at all, the only contact we've had was with Chelsea and everyone knows what happened there," Sang told planetfootball.

"We're working on a few things and lots of clubs have his information and details of any proposed transfers but specifically with Boro there is nothing going on there at the moment.

"He still wants to move, he's told us that."

As with Chelsea, the main problem seems to be the £7 million price tag on Geremi, but Sang says that he is working on ways to get him into The Premiership.

"The aim was to go to one of the big six clubs," he added.

"If that doesn't happen we said rather than play a bit part with Real Madrid, it would be better to be in The Premiership playing week in week out and then maybe get your move from a Middlesbrough, Southampton or Bolton to a Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea.

"Things are ongoing and we are working away but a lot of the clubs are telling us that finances are the problem.

"A lot of clubs are reluctant to pay £7 or £8 million, which is his asking price, the way football is at the moment.

"So we are looking to come up with a suitable agreement, whether it be on a year's loan with an option to buy, or money based on appearances.

"We'll agree that with Real Madrid before putting that to clubs here to see if it is a suitable option for them."
