Slightly later than planned Frank Lampard began training with New York City FC on Wednesday, meeting up with David Villa among others.
The former Chelsea midfielder had been due to join the newly-formed MLS outfit ahead of the start of the 2015 campaign but opted to stay at Manchester City until the end of the Premier League season.
Now, after a few weeks rest, Lampard has finally begun work with Jason Kreis' team and was put through his paces in the gym and on the training pitches.
Although he has yet to even play a match for his new club, Lampard is expected to be in the MLS All-Star team to take on Tottenham in a few weeks time.
The former England international started out in the gym as the club's staff assessed his fitness levels. If all goes well Lampard will make his debut for the club later this summer.
After getting the gym work out of the way Lampard took to the pitch alongside his new team-mates, including former Barcelona and Spain striker David Villa.
It's a pose we've seen many times over the years as Lampard looks to spray a pass or unleash a shot at goal. Fans on the other side of the Atlantic will have to get used to it now.
One date that Lampard is likely already looking forward to is 23 August when City travel to the West Coast to take on LA Galaxy and his former England team-mate Steven Gerrard.
A bit of stretching and a chat with his new team-mates bring Lampard's first day with New York City to a close.
