On-loan Manchester City Women’s striker Nikita Parris hopes she can force her way into England manager Mark Sampson’s plans ahead of this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Parris was a standout performer for Everton last term, scoring 11 goals in 19 appearances in a season where the Merseysiders were relegated from FA Women’s Super League 1.

The England U23 international, who was named as Everton’s Player of the Year in 2014, joined City on a season-long loan deal last month.

And the 20-year-old hopes the move can be the springboard for her to fulfil her ambition of achieving full international honours for England.

Parris told Sky Sports: “My goals are just to score more goals, get myself noticed more and hopefully challenge for a place in the England squad with the Women’s World Cup on the horizon in Canada.

“Hopefully I can get myself on that plane to Canada but if not then I will be looking to future women’s tournaments like the Euros. And on a club front the aim is to just try and win some silverware.

“We have some top players at international level, well-respected strikers like Eni Aluko, Toni Duggan and Lianne Sanderson. As a young player I really look up to players like that and hopefully one day I will be playing alongside them.”

Meanwhile, the Football Association has announced that the FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy will be in Milton Keynes this coming Friday when England take on USA.

The FA and FIFA are bringing the trophy to stadiummk as part of the FIFA Live Your Goals Tour, where it is travelling to every country that has qualified for this summer’s tournament in Canada.

Tatjana Haenni, , FIFA deputy director of the competitions division and head of women’s competitions, said: “We are delighted to be visiting England as part of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Live Your Goals Tour.

“On behalf of FIFA, I’d like to thank the FA for their support in promoting the tour as we look forward to showcasing the winner’s trophy during the England-USA match at Milton Keynes.

“It will be a fantastic opportunity to engage with fans and provide them with further information about Canada 2015 and the legacy it will leave for women’s football.”
