Manchester City will be without Frank Lampard for their Champions League match with CSKA Moscow on Tuesday.

Lampard did not travel with the rest of Manuel Pellegrini's squad to the Russian captial for the crucial Group E match.

The former Chelsea midfielder, who is on-loan with New York City, picked up a thigh injury against Tottenham on Saturday.

Lampard had to be stretchered off during the first-half of City’s 4-1 victory and he will now receive treatment in a bid to be fit for the weekend showdown with former club West Ham.

Playmaker Samir Nasri, who is sidelined after a groin operation, also stayed at home while Eliaquim Mangala is hoping to shake of a thigh injury.

Meanwhile, CSKA warmed up for City's visit by romping to their fifth straight league victory, thrashing Kuban Krasnador 6-0 to move within two points of Andre Villas-Boas' Russian Premier League leaders’ Zenit.
