Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko admitted he was pleased to see his team-mate Sergio Aguero make his return as Manuel Pellegrini's free-scoring side beat Blackburn Rovers 5-0 in their FA Cup third-round replay.
Rovers battled to a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park just 11 days ago but they had no answer for a rampant City at the Etihad on Wednesday night.
Alvaro Negredo scored either side of half-time to put City 2-0 up and when Dzeko netted a third the tie was effectively over as a contest.
Aguero then scored with just his second touch within a minute of making his return after eight games out through a calf injury - and Dzeko bagged the fifth to take City's goal total for the season to 99.
"That's great news for the team because he's one of the important players for the team," said the Bosnian international.
City are still in the hunt for four trophies but Dzeko is refusing to get carried away, despite admitting that this year's vintage is better than the City team that won the Premier League in 2012.
"We are still there for four trophies but our target is to try to win every next game," he added.
"We have a few world-class players especially bought in the new season like Fernandinho, Navas, Negredo.
"It's amazing to have them here and that's why we are better."
