Sky Sports understands that Manchester City are yet to lodge a bid for Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a target for City, with Roberto Mancini reportedly a huge fan of the Montenegrin.
Fiorentina insist they have no plans to sell their prized asset, but it is understood that a 'gentlemen's agreement' does exist that would see an offer of €30million (£23.7m) accepted.
The Viola are bracing themselves for an offer, with less than ten days of the transfer window remaining, but as yet no deal is on the table.
Sky Sports also understands that City are actively looking at another Fiorentina player in the shape of defender Matija Nastasic.
The highly-rated 19-year-old Serbia international joined the Florence outfit last summer from Partizan Belgrade and earned huge plaudits after an excellent debut campaign.
Again Fiorentina do not want to sell Nastasic, but would consider any 'important' offers.
