Leeds, Barnsley and Huddersfield among those keen on City starlet

Sky Sports understands that Manchester City starlet Reece Wabara is attracting plenty of interest from Football League clubs looking for loanees. The 20-year-old defender is held in high regard at the Etihad Stadium, but remains some way down the first-team pecking order. He has made just one senior appearance for the Blues to date, and that came on the final day of the 2010/11 campaign. With opportunities limited, City opted to send him on loan to Ipswich Town last season.

Impressed

The youngster impressed during his time at Portman Road and interest in his services this summer is steadily mounting. It is understood that Barnsley, Huddersfield Town and Leeds United would all welcome the opportunity to offer him another taste of the Championship. League One promotion hopefuls Preston North End and Doncaster Rovers are also believed to be in the running. Wabara will be aware that he needs games in order to further his development, so a loan switch is looking increasingly likely.
