Midfielder unlikely to leave for City this summer

Reported Manchester City target Cristian Ledesma is unlikely to leave Lazio this summer, according to his representative. The highly-rated midfielder has been linked with City for some time, with Roberto Mancini known to be an admirer of his creative talents. The 29-year-old is, however, settled in Rome after six years with Lazio. He has expressed no desire to move on and remains an important figure in the capital outfit's plans. For that reason, Ledesma's agent is convinced that his client will shun any approach from Premier League champions City. "Mancini likes Ledesma," Vincenzo D'Ippolito told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Captain

"Each year this interest is renewed but Cristian has made a life choice and wants to remain in Rome. "He is not the classic player that thinks about money above everything else. "I believe he will end his career with the Biancoceleste. "He is ready to be the captain of Lazio next season." Ledesma joined Lazio from Lecce in 2006 and is under contract with the Serie A outfit until June 2015.
