Striker nets as Man City reserves record 3-1 win over Bolton

Carlos Tevez netted on his first public appearance in a Manchester City shirt since his self-imposed exile in a 3-1 win for the reserves against Bolton. Tevez returned to his homeland of Argentina following a bust-up with City boss Roberto Mancini in the 2-0 UEFA Champions League at Bayern Munich in September. He made his first outing last week, playing 45 minutes in a behind closed doors friendly, before appearing for the reserves on Tuesday night. The Argentine came close in the first half with a free-kick, before netting from close range in the 51st minute to level for City. Tevez was substituted shortly after scoring but his performance will have pleased Mancini who has indicted that the striker is still part of his plans after apologising to the manager. Although after so long on the sidelines the Italian knows Tevez won't be match fit right away, saying recently: "After three months it is not easy to play. "At this moment he can't play. Maybe in two weeks he could be ready."
