Joleon Lescott has warned against complacency as Manchester City welcome Blackburn to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Leaders City have a 100 per cent home record in the Premier League this season while Rovers have won just once on the road.
That particular win came in Old Trafford against City's bitter rivals and main title contenders Manchester United in December.
Lescott, 29, insists three points cannot be taken for granted, and has highlighted 13-goal striker Yakubu as Rovers' dangerman.
"We can't just think the game has been won before we started," Lescott told the
Daily Star.
"On any given day Blackburn can pull out a good result. Look at what they did at Old Trafford.
"I know big Yak from my Everton days. He is a bubbly character, but if you switch off for a second he will punish you. He has scored a lot of goals recently."
Home record
City have the chance to become the first team since Sunderland in 1892 to win every single home game in a top-flight league season.
Lescott admits it would be a nice record to match, but insists City set out to win each match as it comes, regardless of the venue.
He said: "It's not something we set out to do at the start of the season or said, 'We've got to win every game at home.'
"But we go into home matches now really confident because of our record here, we're comfortable here and teams know that.
"It's not something that you can really put your finger on. We set out to win every game whether it's here or away.
"Our tactics aren't that much different when we play here. Maybe it's the opposition who change because we have done so well here."
Roberto Mancini's men hold a two-point lead over United and a win over Rovers on Saturday will extend that to five before the Red Devils take on Norwich at Carrow Road on Sunday.
"Mentally and for confidence it is a big plus for us to continue to be top," added Lescott. "It is nice every Monday morning. But United are a quality team so we cannot rest on our laurels.
"There are no easy games. It is going to be a tough run-in because there are no poor teams at the bottom. It is just consistency they lack."
