Italian giants hope to stall PSG move for City striker

Inter Milan's sporting director Marco Branca has not given up hope of landing Carlos Tevez. The out-of-favour Manchester City striker was expected to move on during the current transfer window. Tevez was strongly linked with a move to AC Milan but talks broke down and French side Paris St Germain are now in pole position to sign the Argentina international. Inter have also expressed an interest in the 27-year-old and Branca is keeping an open mind about their chances are reaching an agreement. "I think that Tevez is close to Paris St Germain and that his agent has received a very attractive offer," he told Rmc Sport. "However, I am neither optimistic nor pessimistic about the Tevez case. "We are always interested in the player and continue to discuss things with his agent. We are looking at the possibility of trying again for Carlos in the coming days. "We won't be too late, the situation will not change within one or two days, and the transfer window doesn't close this evening or tomorrow."

Motta interest

Former Inter coach Leonardo is now PSG's director of football and has contemplated making a move for Inter midfielder Thiago Motta. But Branca is confident the 29-year-old Italy international will still be with the Nerazzurri at the end of the transfer window. "Paris St Germain have expressed an interest in him but there were no offers," he added. "Leonardo likes the player, he knows him very well, but we don't want to deprive the team of one of our key players. "There is very little chance that Thiago will leave Inter in January."
