French side hoping to strike deal for City striker

Sky Sports sources understand Carlos Tevez's adviser is set to hold talks with Paris Saint Germain on Thursday about a prospective move to the French capital. Big-spending PSG have made an approach to land the wantaway Manchester City striker as they look to bring in a high-profile signing in this month's transfer window. Tevez's future at City has been the subject of constant speculation since his infamous bust-up with Roberto Mancini during their UEFA Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich. AC Milan and Inter Milan have both expressed an interest in signing Tevez, but City's reluctance to sanction a loan move with a view to a permanent deal being struck in the summer is thought to be proving a sticking point. PSG are understood to be ready to meet City's asking price for Tevez with Carlo Ancelotti a big admirer of the Argentine. Tevez's adviser, Kia Joorabchian, is expected to meet with Ancelotti and PSG sporting director Leonardo to discuss a possible move as they look to win the chase for the forward.

In progress

Ancelotti confirmed talks are ongoing about Tevez and he is hopeful he can persuade the player to make the move to the Parc Des Princes. "The Tevez negotiation? It's in progress, but it is not easy because he is an important player," Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia. "We are very interested to take him and there is City's desire to sell but we must also consider the agreement with the player." AC Milan and Inter are both expected to come back in for Tevez before the end of the transfer window with the player thought to be keen on a switch to Italy. Joorabchian, speaking on Twitter, insists City will decide where Tevez goes in the end . "I say the same thing, City decides. Milan, Inter or PSG. Corinthians out City decides and we wait," said Joorabchian.
