Leonardo will only move for City striker if Milan fail to agree a deal

Paris St Germain sporting director Leonardo insists the French club will only try to sign Carlos Tevez if AC Milan fail to agree a deal for the Manchester City striker. Tevez is set to leave City during the January transfer window after failing to feature since refusing to warm-up in the UEFA Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich in September. Milan are favourites to sign the Argentina international and have already seen a loan bid rejected, with City boss Roberto Mancini stressing he is only interested in a permanent deal. The Serie A champions are refusing to concede defeat in the chase for Tevez just yet and Leonardo has confirmed PSG will not interfere in his former club's transfer plans.

Good relations

Leonardo told La Repubblica: "I will not steal Tevez from Milan. "I have not contacted the player and I will not get in between the Rossoneri's affairs. "Even though I didn't share the views of (AC Milan owner Silvio) Berlusconi which meant it was impossible for me to stay at Milan, the relations with the club are good." However, Leonardo did admit that, if Milan rule themselves out of the race to sign Tevez, PSG would be ready to acquire the former Manchester United forward. "We are looking (at the player) without disturbing anyone," Leonardo said. "But if my mentor (AC Milan vice-president Adriano) Galliani changes plans, then we are interested."
