Waiting game for Ball

Michael Ball's agent admits his client must be patient in his efforts to find a new club for next season.

Experienced full-back focused on getting fit before finding a new club

Manchester City defender Michael Ball's agent has told skysports.com that the player is concentrating on getting fit before considering any offers from potential suitors, as he continues his road back from injury. The 29-year-old is currently on the sidelines and in rehabilitation after recovering from knee surgery, which he underwent in January. The player's representative, former Everton and Marseille midfielder Trevor Steven, has said that although clubs may be interested in him, Ball will only be looking at getting in peak shape. "Michael's contract is not being renewed at Manchester City and runs out on 30th June. But they have a responsibility to assist the player in his bid to regain full fitness," Steven told skysports.com. "It's difficult to gauge the interest in Michael as there are plenty of fit players out there to be interested in and most clubs want players who are fit to start the season, so we will just wait and get him fit now and go from there. "I would think that the way forward would be for Michael to go on trial at a club and that would be the route we are looking most likely to take when he recovers from his injury."
