Richard Dunne believes Manchester City can not only get into the last eight of the Uefa Cup but could also lift the trophy in the Istanbul final in May.
The Blues skipper feels City's only chance of silverware becomes a realistic dream if they beat Danish side Aalborg to reach the quarter-finals of the European tournament.
"The Uefa Cup is a long competition but both the players and the fans are enjoying it," Dunne told the club's official website.
"It's a great opportunity, our only one of winning a trophy this season. We have to believe in ourselves that we can win it."
The Eastlands club have already seen off Danish sides FC Midtjylland and then FC Copenhagen in midweek thanks to a Craig Bellamy brace.
But Aalborg are the latest Scandinavian side City will face and who stand in their way of making it into the final eight.
"It's exciting to play abroad, even if it seems to be Denmark most of the time! But we have to make sure the opportunity doesn't pass us by," the 29-year-old said.
"We believe that if we play well, we can beat them. Then if we get to the last eight, it gets really interesting."
