Luis Fabiano's agent claims Manchester City are tracking the Sevilla striker.
City look set to invest heavily during the transfer window and at least one striker would appear high on Mark Hughes's wanted list.
The likes of Roque Santa Cruz, Ronaldo and Lukas Podolski have all been strongly linked with January moves to Eastlands and Fabiano is now the latest name tipped to move.
Fabiano, who scored a hat-trick for his country against Portugal last week, has scored just three goals for Sevilla this season - but his agent Jose Fuentes claims a host of clubs, including City, are tracking him.
"Manchester City have asked about Fabiano but that is not unique because they are just one of many," Fuentes is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.
"The final decision lays with Seville and I still have to speak to the club's directors."
