Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll is confident of signing Manchester City defender Matthew Mills on a permanent basis.
The 21-year-old spent a large part of last season on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium and made a good impression as Doncaster won promotion to the Championship.
Doncaster have been looking to agree a fee with City for some time and O'Driscoll remains hopeful that a deal will be pushed through.
"Matt is keen to come and we have had tentative discussions with his agents and that is ongoing," he told the club's official website.
"I am due to see him again before the end of next week to try to move it on a little bit further.
"All along, Manchester City have indicated the figure that we would have to pay for Matt and they have stuck by their guns.
"When we took him on loan and indicated whether there would be a deal in the future, they indicated the figure and we are happy with that."
