Bianchi and Samaras 'might' return to Eastlands

Sven Goran Eriksson says Georgios Samaras and Rolando Bianchi 'might' return to Manchester City. Samaras and Bianchi have been loaned out to Celtic and Lazio respectively. The duo will spend the rest of the season away from Eastlands after struggling to hold down regular places in the first team. Eriksson is unsure if the pair will return to the club after their loan deals come to an end in the summer. "It (the door) is open for them. We, as a club, hope they are going to do very well in Italy and in Scotland," he said on Sky Sports News. "They are still on loan and after this season they might be our players again."

Balloons

Eriksson went on to discuss last Sunday's FA Cup exit against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. Luton Shelton opened the scoring for the home side, pouncing on Michael Ball's miss-kick after the City defender was distracted by balloons thrown onto the pitch by the travelling support. The Swedish tactician refused to blame referee Alan Wiley, while expressing his belief that his side should have claimed victory. "The balloons - it was very strange of course," he continued. "I am sure Michael Ball would have cleared the ball if the penalty area had been clear. "It is a pity that we went 1-0 down, but I think we should have won that game - and that was our fault. "Even if you can blame the referee for that goal, you cannot blame the referee for that result." Manchester City have since confirmed that they have written to The Football Association voicing their concerns about how Sunday's FA Cup game was handled.
