Winger loving life at Eastlands

Bulgarian star Martin Petrov is full of praise for his new club Manchester City. Petrov arrived in the summer from Atletico Madrid and has taken little time in finding his feet in the Premier League. He has bagged three goals already and has played a major part in helping Sven Goran Eriksson's team into third place.

Delight

"We have a fantastic new manager and many fine players who will keep improving," he told the Manchester Evening News. "If we improve our concentration and play like we have been then it could be the best I have been part of. "There is no doubt we can be better, I know that there is still more to come from me but now we have set our standards and must only think about beating Middlesbrough in our next game. "We do not discuss the league table, the top six or what we might achieve, we just carry on doing what we have been and see what happens. "Of course we were happy in the dressing room that we had won but we don't dwell on it and just started preparing for the next game. "That is how it has to be and that is how you become a successful side."
Elano praise
Petrov also paid tribute to another one of the new faces brought in by Eriksson, Elano - who smashed home a wonderful free-kick in the weekend victory over Newcastle. "I am happy, too, for Elano because he had been complaining that he had five assists and no goals," revealed Petrov. "Well now he has one and it was a great free-kick. "He is such a skilful player that the rest of the team know that if they make runs into space then he will find them."
