Lens midfielder Alou Diarra has expressed his delight at agreeing a deal to replace Mahamadou Diarra at Lyon.
Following the completion of Mali international Diarra's move to Real Madrid, Lyon have moved quickly to line up a replacement.
France international Diarra has been chosen to reinforce the midfield and a é¼7 million (£4.7 million) deal has been agreed between the two clubs.
Diarra is expected to sign a four-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions and should be unveiled as a Lyon player on Wednesday.
"It is an honour to join the champions Lyon," said Diarra.
The 25-year-old's agent Janos Toth also confirmed that the transfer was imminent, saying: "Indeed, we are just waiting for the green light from Lyon."
Lens are already looking to bring in a replacement, with Crvena Zvezda ace Milan Bisevac an option.
Meanwhile, Lens' attacking midfielder Olivier Thomert is again being linked with a move to Premiership side Manchester City.
Thomert was the subject of a é¼7 million bid from Portsmouth earlier in the summer, but that figure could prove to be out of City's reach.
