Manchester City and Fulham are in negotiations with Lyon forward Sidney Govou, according to the player's agent.
The 26-year-old Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to Rangers in the past, but could now head to The Premiership.
Both Premier League teams are keen to strengthen their squads following difficult times in the top flight last term.
Govou's agent Frederic Guerra appears to view such a move as a stepping stone for his client.
"We are negotiating with two English clubs for Sidney," Guerra exclusively informed skysports.com. "Manchester City and Fulham have confirmed their interest in him.
"It wouldn't be a problem for Sidney not to play European football next season, and he is interested by those sides.
"Like [Wigan full back] Pascal Chimbonda, he could prove his talent there, and be recognised, but we are also waiting for other offers.
"We haven't received any calls from French clubs."
