Nicky Weaver could be set for a rare start in a Manchester City shirt this weekend against Fulham.
The 27-year-old has not started a game for City since August 2003 having being ravaged by injuries over the last three seasons.
However, with first-choice goalkeeper David James struggling with a stiff back, Weaver could be called into action for Stuart Pearce's men.
The Englishman spent time on loan at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday earlier this season before undergoing revolutionary knee cartilage transplant surgery in the United States.
Manager Stuart Pearce has already offered Weaver a new deal at Eastlands, which should be signed in the very near future, and the goalkeeper will be hoping that he can start afresh when Chris Coleman's men travel north without a win all season outside Craven Cottage.
