Sylvain Distin is waiting to see where Manchester City finish in The Premiership before committing himself to the Eastlands outfit.
The former Newcastle defender still has over a year remaining on his existing deal with City, but has already been in talks regarding an extension.
Distin is keen to remain at The City of Manchester Stadium, although he has conceded the club's circumstances have changed since his arrival.
The French stopper is keen on showcasing his skills on the European stage and has hinted he might leave should City fail to make the Uefa Cup.
"I want to see what direction the club will take," explained Distin. "When I signed for City it was because I wanted to play in European competition.
"It was with a different coach and the money situation with the club was different."
