Jordan inks City deal

Manchester City defender Stephen Jordan has signed a new deal at the club.

Manchester City defender Stephen Jordan has signed a new deal at the club.

The 22-year-old's current deal was due to expire in the summer, but the club have moved to tie him down to a new contract.

The talented full back has inked a new two-year deal at The City of Manchester Stadium.

"I joined Manchester City at the tender age of eight, and I have spent all my career here," Jordan told the club's official website.

"I love the club and the fans, and I'm only too happy to be staying here for at least the next two years.

"I am really looking forward to playing for Stuart Pearce and building on our successful end to the season."

City boss Stuart Pearce was delighted to keep Jordan.

"I'm absolutely delighted that Stephen has committed to Manchester City Football Club," said Pearce.

"He has done very well this season, particularly in the latter part of the campaign. His signing personally gives me a good range of options at left back, with him and Ben Thatcher fighting for a place."
