Wright-Phillips signs new deal

Bradley Wright-Phillips has signed a new contract with Manchester City.

Bradley Wright-Phillips has signed a new contract with Manchester City.

The 19-year-old, brother of Shaun - also with City, has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal.

"There was never any question of me wanting to go anywhere else even if I was wanted by another club," Wright-Phillips told the club's website.

"I don't want to go anywhere else. This contract gives me more time to progress, and that is very important.

"Shaun had no input into my decision to stay - because while I do listen to his advice and it is good him being here, I didn't take any advice from anyone.

"I was always going to stay."

The striker scored on his Premiership debut last week against Middlesbrough and is just the latest player to commit his future to the club, following the likes of his brother Shaun, Joey Barton and Willo Flood.
