Hartlepool United have added Manchester City's Chris Shuker to their squad on a month's loan.

The 21-year-old had previously been on loan at Rochdale but decided not to extend his three-month stay at Spotland.

City boss Kevin Keegan has allowed him to link up with Neale Cooper's men, and the player concluded the necessary paperwork with Pool on Thursday afternoon.

Shuker can play anywhere in midfield and has been told by Keegan that he will not be offered a new contract come the end of the season, and as such had no objection with the player chancing his arm at Victoria Park.

The deal has been completed in time for Shuker to be included in the squad to take on QPR at the weekend.

Meanwhile, defender Mark Robinson has joined non-league side Spennymoor United on a month's loan.
