METZ midfielder Gregory Proment has confirmed that he could be set for a move to Birmingham City.

The 24-year-old dismissed suggestions that Manchester City are also in the frame for his signature, but feels the matter is now up to Metz to decide his future.

"Manchester, it's false," he revealed when asked of the interest from England.

"Nicolas Anelka, who is a pal, has spoken to me but I never had contact with them.

"Birmingham is more probable.

"Listen, nothing has really happened in the last nine days. I just say to you that Birmingham is a possible track.

"Now, I repeat it for you, I am always under contract with Metz."

However, the Saint-Symphorien outfit would ease their debts by selling one of their major assets.

"I've heard that," he told But. "It is clear a big transfer could help the future budget.

"But if I do not leave again, the proof is I'll resume training with my team-mates."

A move across The Channel obviously appeals to Proment.

"Of course, it is my dream to play in The Premiership," he revealed.

"I am attracted to England, the ambience in the stadiums, the game that the teams play, the character of the people.

"And then, I like the language!"
