MANCHESTER CITY'S recent recruit Djamel Belmadi has been included in Algeria's squad for the friendly against Belgium with Marseille midfielder Brahim Hemdani earning a first call-up.

Belmadi has made an encouraging start to his Maine Road career and is joined in the squad by ex-l'OM team-mate Hemdani.

Recently-appointed Algerian coach George Leekens comes up against his home nation in the match in Algiers on February 12.

Marseille defender Daniel van Buyten - a target for Newcastle United - has been named in a 19-man squad by Belgian boss Aime Anthuenis.

In-form striker Cedric Roussel, who is on loan at Mons-Bergen from Wolves, is also in the squad.
