SUNDERLAND'S John Oster has turned down the chance of moving to Oldham Athletic on loan, making Bradford City clear favourites to end his Stadium of Light exile.
The Skegness-born winger snubbed Andy Ritchie`s overtures, saying that he feels as if a move to Boundary Park would be a backward step.
"I don't want to drop down two divisions," explained the 23-year-old Welsh international.
Bradford manager Jim Jefferies is now expected to move in and attempt to secure a loan deal for Oster with the possibility of the move being made permanent.
Meanwhile, it is understood that Ritchie has now switched his sights to neighbours Manchester City in the hope that he can persuade Scottish striker Paul Dickov to join The Latics.
